Octagon Girls, Why not Boys???

One of the things I’ve been wondering lately, particularly with the prevalence of woman/woman fights in the UFC, is “why don’t we have Octagon Boys?”

Octagon girls (https://www.ufc.com/gallery/photo-gallery-octagon-girls) are there at the weigh-ins, they announce “round 1” and 2 and so forth and they are very pleasant to look at. They don’t say much, but to be fair, they are there to be a friendly, sexy, face. A counterpart to the bloody, gruesome fighters. The sports announcers often call out their names as they swoop by the camera.

When the UFC was an all-men sport, having a feminine presence in the ring made sense- it softened the “brutality” and, let’s face it, the girls are pretty hot.

But, now…when we have so many women UFC fighters, why not showcase Octagon Boys at the weigh-ins and between rounds (if only for the sake of equality for the women UFC fans who want to see some hairy chests and broad backs and perhaps scruffy sexy beards)?

So, in the spirit of the UFC, I’ll “call out” to Dana White!

DANA! BRING US THE BOYS!
